After being diagnosed with a long-term illness in 1995 I started to search different ways of living as naturally as possible, changing my diet to include foods that would help improve my health and energy levels. I started to practice yoga too.
My partner (now husband) and I started a family, and when our two children were still young I found I had a desire to find more ways to strengthen my body and mind.
I discovered and introduced myself to massage and bodywork in 2002 by starting a Diploma in massage, training through MTI (Massage Training Institute) in Norwich. The course left me inspired and hungry for more. I went on to assist on the same training and qualified as a Holistic Massage Teacher in 2007.
Throughout my journey I continue to develop my knowledge and skills by training on advanced courses and workshops. These include: Indian Head Massage (2003), Seated Acupressure Therapy (2005), Kansa Vatki Foot Massage (2012), Reiki (2016), Deep Tissue Massage (2016), Pregnancy Massage (2017), Oncology Massage (2018)
I have found that my path has enabled my condition to be stable, and although it can occasionally slow me down, I continue to enjoy, develop and extend my knowledge.
I really enjoy working with clients and they leave feeling relaxed and nurtured. I aim to soothe away your stresses and strains, and help you towards a happy and healthier way of life.
Once a month I volunteer at a cancer charity centre in Wymonham called Star Throwers offering massage treatments. It's a lovely way to help support cancer patients an carers through a difficult time in their lives. www.starthrowers.org.uk
Holistic massage for me is an individual treatment, using my hands, forearms and elbows to apply the appropriate amount of pressure that you and your body needs. This allows you to let go of your physical tensions as well as relax and expand your (emotional) mind.
Through this communication of touch I am able to find and target areas of need. From this intuitive and person-centred approach, I help you find your ability to harness your healing benefits and powers.
I have specific and specialist training in pregnancy massage.
During the exciting journey from pre-natal to post-natal, women can often experience Sciatica, oedema, back ache, indigestion, insomnia and other pregnancy related condtions.
My pregnancy massage is fantastic in dealing with these issues, as well as those aches, pains and niggles that can continue all throughout the pregnancy. It is an ideal way to help you feel calm and soothed during this joyful but sometimes uncomfortable time.
Seated Acupressure Massage is a sequence developed from traditional Oriental Anma and Shiatsu style massage techniques to improve health, energy flow, and reduce tension.
Received through the clothes, without oils, in a comfortable ergonomically designed chair.
These seated treatments take 45 minutes, which includes time for a short consultation.
This massage has been practiced in India for centuries. Following the Ayurvedic tradition, which works to resore the body's balance thereby improving health and well-being in the individual. At the heart of the treatment is a small three metal bowl, Copper, Zinc and Tin which helps to re-balance the tridosha of Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
The use of clarified butter or ghee is traditional and the treatment involves working on the feet and lower legs, with particular emphasis on marma points. After a Kansa Vatki foot massage, you will feel like you are walking on air.

" I began visiting Hilary three years ago in order to alleviate the symptoms of a long running Repetative Strain Injury (RSI). Conventional medicines such as anti-inflammatory gels and pain relief tablets were only masking the issue, and it wasn't until I began my treatment of Holistic Massage that I began to feel any lasting improvement. During the course of therapy I also began to realise the well-being benefit of Holistic Massage, and removing blockages and realising elements of my muscular system also made me comfortable and relaxed for several days afterwards.
Though my RSI is well under control now I still attend Hilary's practice regularly as a way of staying free of any general muscular ailments and to maintain a good healthy balance." 12/2/15
"I've been a very satisifed client for several years. I would recommend Hilary without reservation. Having taught massage myself I do know what a good practitioner looks like."
"I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Hilary as she qualified some ten years ago. I have come to trust her intuition regarding when, where and how to work. I enjoy being able to adjust and develop what is required as we go along. Recently in getting over a Lymes infection her thoroughness and application were really important in my getting over it. I can wholeheartedly recommend her." 19/2/15
"I first met Hilary in 2010. From the moment I began my treatment, Hilary has made me feel at ease and relaxed. Hilary shows genuine care and consideration and always takes time to see how I am. The massage is suited to what is best for you and concentrates on the areas you require work on; with this personalised approach I always receive a massage which benefits me as it targets any problem areas. I can honestly say that I feel a real benefit after my massage; I feel relaxed, totally chilled out and calm. The combination of massage and advice given by Hilary has helped improve my overall health and well-being and I would thoroughly recommend it."
" I suffer from Cervical Dystonia affecting my neck, and my doctor suggested that massage might help ease my symptoms, which are nagging pain and stiffness. I tried his suggestion and find it not only helps me manage my neck pain, but eases all sorts of stresses and tensions. Hilary always naturally hones in on the areas that need the most work, and it is now an important part of me looking after myself."
" Hilary offers a wonderful therapeutic pain and stress relieving massage. She is a really lovely lady. Would highly recommend"
" Wonderful massage therapist, very kind, nurturing and skilled at what she does"
"I can't recommend Hilary enough. I felt totally cared for, from the warm welcome to professional holistic treatment.
Hilary was keen to know about any aches or areas of concern. She is an extremely stilled therapist and made short work of any knots. I felt extremely calm and relaxed throughout the session and refreshed at the end. I wasted no time in booking my next session! Thanks you Hilary!"
